“More than six decades ago, the Ohio General Assembly recognized that Ohioans, regardless of where they lived, deserved a well-educated, well-organized, and uniform judiciary that administered Ohio’s law consistently throughout the state. Unlike other officials elected locally, trial court judges are state officials – predominantly paid by the state and members of the state’s judicial branch – as are appellate judges elected at the district and statewide level. The Judicial Conference serves the vital and unique role of bringing those judges together for the benefit of all Ohioans.”
