Judge Sheila G. Farmer is the Ohio Judicial Conference Chair
Judge Sheila G. Farmer was admitted to the practice of law after her J.D. degree was awarded by Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Her B.A. degree was awarded from Marymount College, Tarrytown, New York. As an undergraduate, Judge Farmer, studied at the London School of Economics. Judge Farmer was born in 1945, and she and her husband, Richard have two children.
Judge Farmer served as Presiding Judge of the Massillon Municipal Court from 1978 until going to the Stark County Common Pleas Bench in 1984. She was elected to the Fifth District Court of Appeals in 1992. In addition to her Stark County and Oho Bar Association memberships, Judge Farmer served on the Task Force on Gender Bias in the Courts. Judge Farmer's membership in and activities in church, educational and charitable programs are too numerous to list. She is currently the chair of the Ohio Judicial Conference and serves as Co-Chair of the OJC Judicial Compensation and Benefits Committee and as a Board Member of the Ohio Judicial College.

Retired Judge Mark R. Schweikert is the Director of the Ohio Judicial Conference.
Mark R. Schweikert is a retired judge and has served as the Executive Director of the Ohio Judicial Conference since March 1, 2006. Judge Schweikert retired from the Court of Common Pleas of Hamilton County in February 2006 where he had served for seven years. Before that he served as a judge of the Hamilton County Municipal Court from 1995-1999 (two years Presiding/Administrative judge).
He holds a BA degree from The Ohio State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. He was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1980. He is a former chair of the Court Administration Committee of the Ohio Judicial Conference and has served on many committees under the auspices of the Supreme Court of Ohio. He has served as a consultant and faculty for court reform projects in Ukraine and Mongolia.

The Ohio Judicial Conference is an independent statutory entity within the judicial branch of government.
Ohio Revised Code Section 105.91 sets forth our purpose:
To study the co-ordination of the work of the several courts of Ohio,
To encourage uniformity in the application of the law, rules, and practice throughout the state and within each division of the courts as an integral part of the judicial system of the state;
To promote an exchange of experience and suggestions respecting the operation of the judicial system; and
To consider the business and problems pertaining to the administration of justice and to make recommendations for its improvement
